See what the Ski & Snowboard Injury Support Group has meant to others and what they are saying about us!
When I got injured, there was plenty of advice out there, but it was hard to find other people who really knew what it felt like! There’s an emotional gut punch that’s hard to describe, when you love an outdoor sport and are suddenly incapable of doing it. It was really nice to find a welcoming group of people going through the same thing. – Andy
So many people in my life don’t understand just how much these types of injuries can impact you, and your serenity. I am grateful to this group for reminding me who I am and what I can overcome. I don’t feel so alone and seeing what others have been through gives me hope of what I can do too.
– Angelyene
This group has helped me realize I am not alone. We love the mountains, and we keep wanting to go back and do what we like. We also realize that our bodies may not let us get back on the mountain and we may just have to watch or learn some new way to achieve our goal. Example adaptive skiing, skiing or snowboarding on a green slope vs black. The most important thing is this group understands us and our issues. – Nora
I feel like watching others still win in this group even after traumatic injuries inspires me to keep on going and doing my exercises in the offseason and be mentally ready to win any battle on the hill! – Nadia
Just knowing I am not alone in my fear of getting back out there- knowing I am not alone in struggling with accepting that I am no longer what I was- and embracing the support and encouragement from others in getting back on hill! – Alice
